Musical Theme
It seemed like there was a lack of a complete musical theme in the Fellowship. Well, there was those reoccuring three ascending Trumpet notes but I do not think that qualifies. I think it is still possible for them to have a solid theme in the second movie. It is an important things and almost every good movie has to have a good musical theme. Does anyone else feel that is nescessary, or at least beneficial.

Do you have a copy of a soundtrack, CardenIAntauraNauco? The theme is evident in it. It's not quite as obvious as the Harry Potter movie or Star Wars themes, but it works. And I'm not sure I believe that a theme is necessary, but a good solid musical core is, preferrably with some recognizable phrases now and again.

While Shore's score doesn't have the beloved themes contained in Williams' best, it still fit the movie very well and had some recognizable tunes. In particular, there was the noble-sounding trumpet theme, and then the dark, chain-heavy music that identified Isengard.
I haven't listened to the soundtrack much yet but I'm sure we'll all grow to like the music.

The soundtrack is brilliant, you just probably had trouble identifiying the themes the first time around because some of them are pretty complex and they are all subtle.

I love the reoccuring phrases that they have. And contrary to your beliefs, I did hear the "subtle" uses of those phrases. I loved the music from the movie but I felt it might be beneficial to have a theme in its entirety. I believe there was a large misconception as to the meaning of my words. All I meant was that in the second movie they might do well to have a theme that could be replayed and entirely recognized. I think it would be great to after the movie have arrangments of it made for bands and piano and such. And as it is you could not do so. I simply wanted to find out if I was the only one who thought this was true. I am not just another brain-dead idiot condeming the movie for illogical reasons. I feel it would be beneficial.Thats all
