The Saddest Movie
What is the saddest movie you've ever seen?
I just finished watching the movie Road to Perdition. It's a wonderful movie, and the acting is great. It is also very tragic. I do not know right now what I think the saddest movie, because it's sort of hard to compare. I'm wondering because it's vacation and I want to see some movies. One way to tell if a movie is truly well made is if it makes you cry.

I haven't seen Road To Perdition yet but i heard it's really good.
Miss Fourth of July is a really sad movie. i think that's the name of it anyway. Our class watched it in 6th or 4th grade. I didn't actually cry but i 'bout did. alot of other people were crying.

I don't know about sad, but a few movies that have made me cry were Forrest Gump and Miracle Worker.

The only one I can think of off hand is American History X. It really made me cry...

THat's weird, I just finished watching Road to Perdition too. I don't really think that was sad. It just sucked for certian people in the movies.
I'm not a fan of tragedies, so the saddest movie I ever saw was Disney's Charolette's Web. That shouldn't be a kids' movie. They need therapy.

La vita è bella (Life is Beautiful) was a very sad film. Even though everything was described in a funny way and you had several laughs thorough the film, it was still one of the saddest films that I've ever seen.

Oh yes, I was torn between laughing and crying. Roberto Bernigni (sp?) is so cute.

The saddest movie I've ever seen, that I can think of at the moment, was Stepmom. I cried a lot in that movie.

I cry in almost everything, LOTR, Dragonheart, even Star Wars when Darth Vader dies!!!!!! I think the saddest film I've ever seen has to be Titanic- not for the pants Dicaprio storyline or the fact that his character died but seeing the film hit me with the scale of the reality of that night and it really got to me- especially when I saw the old couple on the bed and the Irish woman reading a bedtime story to her children. The fact that so many people died needlessly that night really upset me. Mx

Requiem for a Dream, directed by Darren Aronofsky, with Ellen Burstyn (who was ROBBED by the Academy -- she truly deserved the Oscar that year), Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly and Marlon Wayans.
Not sad, tragic. Emotionally harrowing and painful. One of the most heart-wrenching and absolutely searing films ever made. |

Life is Beautiful
Watership Down The Rescuers Boys on the side (I found the movie to be really excellent but tragic nontheless)

I guess movies that come from a real event are more sad than those who were only made up in the mind of somebody.

ah Baby K you bet me to it... Watership Down is sad as (and
awesome) the bit at the end when Hazel takes his last breath best damn rabbit chief ever. The saddest would have to be Ned Kelly though... at the end when
