would you destroy the one ring?
I've just been wondering would you destroy the one ring if given it? I know I'll get hundreds of people saying yes I would but would they? would anyone today have the strengh of will to destroy it? for remember the one ring in one persons eyes(Gollum's) is a great thing that makes you live forever and turn invisible when you want to, or in another persons point of view(gandalf's) the ring is a extremally evil object that corrupts and destroy's anyone who wears it. or another point of view (Boromir's) that it is a gift that if used could coud destroy all evil.
so I ask again would you cast the one ring into the fire and destroy it? |

Yupers. At least I would hope so. I don't know if anyone can really answer that question unless they have been in that situation. I'm sure Frodo didn't think he would have any problems destroying the ring, but look what happened to him.

I would become more corrupt than any of the Ringwraiths, if I was to try to destroy the Ring. It would've undoubtedly poison my mind and I wouldn't be able to destroy it at all.

I'd love to say YES. But I can't tell it. It's easy to deny evil if you are not tempted. But I think I would. But I would have problems with the journey. That would be physically too difficult for me.

I would try, but after the first two sconds I would see its beauty and just put it on! I admit I'd probably never be able to destroy the Ring.
Im too addicted to my replica, never mind the real one. I'd never be able too! |

I would make every effort, but I don't think I have the strength of will.

I was thinking yes then I thought ah heck be honest! No even if I wanted to I don't think I could...I don't even have power to resist candy so what makes you think I could resist an evil ring! Besides I'd have to much fun puling pranks on people!

I don't really know. I probably could, because I'm not easily tempted by things. But we're talking here a powerful, evil ring, so I still could destroy it, but maybe meet the same fate as Frodo in the end.
But I don't think anyone would let me have the Ring in the first place, so I don't really know the truth.

I don't really think I could, but hey! I could have a lot of fun organizing a Fellowship to help me with my quest! Hmmm....maybe I should do that with a replica of the one...

Well I'm human, so I would have to try extremely hard to resist its temptation. But yes I would try my hardest to have it destroyed, if I knew its danger. I would have gone about it differently too. I'd pick up maybe one or two friends, and hope I found a warrior or twon on the way, and once we're set just charge into Mordor and bolt for Mount Doom.

But then what if a Baggins comes along and steals your precioussss and then you go looking for it and along the way stumble into Mordor and get tortured by a bunch of evil orcs and things and then end up the guide to two hobbits back to Mordor on a horrible quest to destroy the one thing you hold so dear....*Dreran realizes at this point how strange it is that she has already thought all this out, and leaves*
