Most anticipated movies of 2002
With the release of Spider-man, the year's incredible slate of movies began. Which 2002 releases have you seen, and which are you looking forward to?
I just realized I've only seen one 2002 film so far, that being Spiderman yesterday. (The others I've seen this year were actually 2001 releases: ABM, LotR more times, etc.) I'm looking forward to: - LotR: The Two Towers (obviously) - SW: Attack of the Clones - Harry Potter 2 - Austin Powers 3 - Signs - Minority Report - MIB 2 - Gangs of New York - Road to Perdition (GoNY and RTP have the buzz as the most likely Oscar contenders, looking this far in advance) Can't think of any others at the moment, but I'm sure more will catch my eye.

I'd label this a redundant thread because I'm sure there was one like this for this year, though it's probably more than a few pages back, and now it's May and the landscape looks different anyway...
Let's split this up into two categories, both in approximate order of priority. Sequels/established franchises: Attack of the Clones (!!!) The Two Towers (!!!) The Chamber of Secrets Die Another Day MIB 2 New material: Chicago Minority Report Gangs of New York Road to Perdition Reign of Fire Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron Lilo and Stitch The Tuxedo List likely to be added to as awareness of near-end-of-year flicks increases with time.

I still don't know all of the movies that are coming out this year, but so far I have a small list building in the back of my head.
Attack of the Clones The Two Towers Pitifully small, isn't it? I'll probably go see Scooby Doo as well and put forth a motion to see Minority Report. Maybe my mom will take me if it passes our standards.

Well, there's the obvious one. . .Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. (*checks countdown clock. only one minute less then when i last checked. darn.*)
And I admit, I'm looking forward to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Come on, Gilderoy Lockhart is going to be SO funny! Also, Minority Report, and Signs. Still have to see Spider Man, and I can't wait! Must find the time! I guess Matrix: Reloaded isn't coming out 'til 2003. Cause I'm definitely looking forward to that one too!

I liked the Harry Potter movie! I actually enjoyed it more than LOTR:FOTR. Oh Sacriledge! You gonna kill me now? :P
Hobbit: Slag? C'mon, you must have heard of it. :P Movies: Well, Spiderman (when's it coming out?!), AOTC, TTT and I think that's about it. Austin Powers will probably suck. The 2nd one wasn't nearly as good as the first one. (I really liked all those scenes with the dead bad guys families. )

Hey, I liked HP too. I just didn't like it as much as LotR:FotR.

I liked HP until I read the books 2 weeks later. The movie felt like a collage of scenes afterwards.
Anyway, I'm anticipating AOTC in 3 days (nice to be 16 hrs ahead of Pacific time, yay!) and I still can't get over Spiderman. Of course, I'm waiting for TTT which is in 7 months.
