Movie Quotes
Has anyone found any actual quotes by Jackson, or other people who will be involved? Particularly in reference to the second movie.

I found this interesting and, at times, hilarious article.
They do make a factual mistake though. Neither Thranduil nor Legolas is ever described as having blond hair. (Though given that Legolas is blond in LotR it is conceivable that he and his dad would have blond hair in the movie.)

But in the Flies and Spiders chapter in the Hobbit, it describes "a woodland king with a crown of leaves upon his golden hair...", and I always assumed that meant Thranduil.

Yep, golden hair for the Thranduil.

Funniest thing about that article? The movie is The Hobbit and they didn't offer a single casting idea for a single Hobbit, not even Bilbo.
This story is primarily about Dwarves and a Hobbit but I just know they're going to increase the roles of Elves and Men. As for the hair color issue. Thranduil is golden haired. Legolas isn't in The Hobbit so it really doesn't matter.

*shrugs* It wouldn't actually hurt anything to have him there. I mean, he does live there.

Yeah, it would be nice to see him standing around in the backround or something. I hope he doesn't end up helping them escape or something.

It would be kind of strange if it wasn't Orlando Bloom, though. Inconsistency like that in movies bugs me.

It wouldn't bother me if they started from scratch and created a brand new Middle Earth with all new actors.

Well, me neither, obviously. But since it's the same director, they won't, and therefore it would just look strange to have the same world with different actors.

Greetings
Ian McKellen said he wants to be Gandalf. He said he was going to keep his calendar open for 2009.

I was fine with McKellan's Gandalf, but I certainly think there are other people who could play him just as well, if not better.
