Frodo Baggins Charged With War Crimes
Just too funny.......but there are people who think like this in real life.

Very amusing indeed.
Though, the bit about the Uruks troubles me. So many are getting the wrong idea from the movie! Too many who have knowledge of the books in other matters aren't aware that the Uruk-hai and the Half-orcs are not one and the same. (Nor did Sam ever become the Mayor of Hobbiton, but that's another matter entirely).

Is there more besides that?
Poor Frodo. Taken into custody.......*sniff* ....to await trial....... Ya know Manwe, now would be a great time to work some Valar magic......

I thought it wasn't that funny. I mean yeah picturing Sauron living in a box is kind of interesting to see in your minds eye but where does freedom of relegion come in? Putting LOTR to American political issues....nah bad form.

I think where the confusion lies is that while Sam never became Mayor of Hobbiton IN ITSELF by being Mayor of the Shire he was by default mayor of Hobbiton. Like Bush is President of Delaware, but that ain't how the caption reads on CNN.

An interesting satirical peace, and sadly enough it has a point of sorts.

What's so hard about keeping Half-orcs and Uruk-hai conceptually separate?
The first is only half of the second (putting it really simply). My trouble would be keeping Half-orcs and southern Men visually separate. The first look apparently quite a lot like the second (or something like that).

It's sad to see people making bad analogies with Tolkien in order to promote warmongering policies that Tolkien himself would probably have despised. Can't say I'm impressed.

Okay, that is some funny stuff.
On the other hand, I too don't get the exact distinction between the Uruk-Hai and half-orcs. I have never gotten it. Could someone break that down for me? As a Dungeons & Dragons player, I always figured that the half-orcs were what they were, and the Uruk-Hai corresponded to the D&D orogs, if anyone knows what I'm talking about, but I don't know the specifics of how this works in Tolkien's writing. |
