computer help please

Hey,

I'm NOT a computer savvy person. I just downloaded a file with winzip and when I usually open a winzip file it just opens the file when I click open all.

However, with this file it asks what program I want to open the small files with.

Meaning, when I push open all, it shows small icons and when I click a small icon it ask what program I want to open the file with.

I think it is a PCT file, which means absolutely nothing to me.

Is this file available on a public server?

If so, and if it doesn't contain content inappropriate for these forums, could you post a link?

Without seeing the file, there's no way I (or probably anyone) could know whether it's a corrupted archive, an intact archive full of corrupted files, an intact archive full of files of uncommon types, or common types with incorrect filetype extensions, etc...

PCT files are QuickTime PICT images. The Zip file should be 12.8 megs, and contain 116 PICT images numbered 1 to 128.

You'll need to get QuickTime to view them if you don't already have it, or you'll have to go to QuickTime in Control Panel, select File Type Associations, then select Macintosh file types to reassociate them with QuickTime if you already have it, but it isn't opening the files.

The web install version of QuickTime 5 can be downloaded here, and the standalone version of QuickTime 5 can be downloaded here.

The QuickTime Picture Viewer doesn't appear to have any keyboard shortcuts, so you'll have to click on each file, or load each file from Picture Viewer's File menu.
