Multiple explosions in London

Three tube trains and a bus hit. What really brings it home to me personally is that most of the explosions were in places I know well and on routes I've often used - and did use only yesterday.

Two confirmed deaths at the moment but I fear this number will increase.

Weren't there seven bombs? Six placed in the subway and one on a bus (or was it three buses)? A very tragic event.

Because the tube train bombs went off between stations they were initially reported by each station, the latest from the BBC is that they now think it was three bombs on the tube and not six.

33 deaths now confirmed on the tube alone, no figures from the bus.

Seems like there will be a lot more confirmed deaths. A Norwegian net-paper estimated at least 40 dead and over 1000 wounded (though they also said there were 7 bombs).

Really?

When I last checked the news there were only 4 bombs and 3 deaths.

Has there been more since noon-ish?

You gotta love the Brits and their calm attitude to the bombings. Hardly no panic, the Londoneers rather seem annoyed that they can't meet their friends for a cup of tea.
You Brits rule!

Is everyone O.K. over there, mooters & their families? How f-ed up, so very sad and infuriating. I've got my heart in England (was born in Hastings, have many relatives in Kent) and have been wanting to get my English passport and leave L.A. and go to London for a while, after I sell a script here (!) and this horrific, chickens-t bombing makes me want to go to London even more, solidarity and all. Mooters of England, my heart goes out to you all during this awful tragedy.

To who? And how is that exactly going to help anyone?

I'm very upset about it as well, but this isn't a time to be saying things like that.

I guess it somehow was expected to happen someday.. But it's such a shock when it really does.

I'm glad you're safe, Mark.

New York, Washington, Madrid, now this. And the day after London got the games no less. Lets all hope the casualties will be minimized. And that the Dutch and the Italians dont cave into the bombers demands if those were the actual bombers. At least you guys over there had some experience with the IRA and all. Nevermind the Luftwaffe. Stiff upper lip lads! Americas got your back for what ever thats worth...

I was up a little after 4am this morning in New York when I first heard of the explosions on cable news....reminded me of waking up to 9/11 .

...it's always a shocker that someone could kill innocent people they don't know or have experience with because of their need to kill for a political statement.....pathetic!

It's been a little over a year since I was in London myself. Since this happened in a place I've actually been, I feel affected by it. I can't say that the thought of something like this happening while I was there didn't cross my mind, but I put it out. You can't live in constant fear. I hope you all goes well in the recovery from this and the search for those responsible.

I feel affected by it because I know so many people who live in London (all of whom are coincidentally from the moot). I only found out about it today. and what did they mean when they said "At least one bus was bombed." ?

We walked past and took the tube through Kings Cross Station on our trip and I can identify with the carnage these horrific acts infliced as the crowds we encountered were very large and it wasn't even rush hour.
This must be, once again, Britians Finest Hour.
