What do you think degraded the 4th movie?

I think all the references to Polyjuice potion being made again ruined it. If viewers hadn't read the book, they shouldn't have been given a chance to work out the end...

WHAT?! I think it was the best adaptation from book to film so far in this series, and also the best film viewed as a film without thinking about it as a series.

And I can't say I feel the polyjuice ruined anything. If people haven't read the book, would they known what Polyjuice potion does? I think not. Maybe if they read book 2. Some really thoughtfull people might have pondered it out, with Moody looking after his flasks all the time but I don't feel it ruined anything

i don't think it was ruined. this is what i think: good movie. good book-movie, maybe. but good movie.

It certainly wasn't ruined! I might have preferred a few things to be different, but I loved this movie.

Well, they had to leave out the sphinx. The entire maze was different. It was pretty freaky. Probably even scarier than the book maze. I still liked it. I think it was kind of cool. It would have been nice to see it more like the one in the book with the Spider, Skrewts, and Sphinx though.

I was glad they left out the sphinx. It probably would have looked dumb (sphinxes are pretty awkward), and it would have slowed down the pace of the movie at a pivotal time.

The movie was quite bad. I think the feeling of being rushed through scenes is what really killed it.

My husband, who won't read the books, was thoroughly confused and has already announced he has no interest in seeing any more Potter movies. I thought the movie was OK and understand that a lot needed to be cut from such a long book to hold down the movie time. But there's much from the books that I missed.

As I've said before, I must await the dvd version but meanwhile, I really appreciate reading all your inputs...personally books contain so much more because we create in our minds while movies can only do so much, even with cgi. I've watched over and over again the first movies and anxiously await seeing the latest.
