New Independence Day Movie... AWFUL!
Went to see it with a few friends. We all wanted to like it, but couldn't. Two thumbs down, WAY down! Third thumb down if we had it. Maybe two thumbs and two big toes.
So bad it has a future as a bad cult film? I don't know. Anyone else waste their time and money on it?

No. When I saw that it didn't have Will Smith in it who, you'll have to admit, made the first one what it is, I didn't want to go. And it has Brent Spiner in it. Generally when one of the old crew of any Star Trek series is involved, it's a bad film and they use one of the crew to draw fans regardless. Sometimes I think directors think sci-fi fans are idiots who'll like anything as long as it can be slightly classified as sci-fi.

But Brent Spiner was in the first one - and it was a good movie. Really good!

Thanks for the heads-up! Nothing worse than forking out for the cinematic experience and feeling like you have been had.

Still, what I said about directors trotting out star trek actors whenever they feel that they need more viewers is certainly a thing.
