A Heroes Story/Life (I can't remember which) by Strauss
When I first heard the music rush in like the Riders of Rohan I knew it would be one of the best peices of classical music I had ever heard. Then it hit me: The Force theme. There was more to come, the droids theme, the Imperial March, the great Star Wars fanfair, all in this wonderfull peice of music. Sure, there were slight changes, but it was deffinately unmistakable. All I can say is wow!

That would be Ein Heldenleben, a hero's life, by Richard Strauss. A great piece of music. Only one of many great orchestral pieces by Strauss. He also wrote Also Sprach Zarathustra (theme to 2001). Clearly he was a huge inspiration to John Williams.

Strauss
I`ve only (very) recently become acquainted with the piece, thanks to a particular someone on this board. ha ha. It`s a nice piece. I`m not a particularly huge fan of Strauss. Perhaps I`ll have to check out more???
