Quotes and Chapter Titles

While I was watching Fellowship of the Ring, I caught some of the titles of chapters in the dialogue. I also noticed some quotes that were said by other people or at different places in the movies than in the books. Some that I noticed:

The intro: In the movie, Galadriel talks about the earth changing and that she can feel it in the water and everything. If I remember right, Treebeard said this somewhere.

Gandalf's little speech in Moria about "So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. You must decide what to do with the time that is given you." (Forgive me, I'm quoting from memory) In the book, he tells Frodo that in the chapter "The Shadow of the Past."

When Gandalf arrives at Bilbo's house, he says something about "A long expected party."

After the party, he's back at Bilbo's house smoking and thinking and he mutters, "Riddles in the dark." (From The Hobbit)

"It was a shortcut." "A shortcut to what?" "Mushrooms!"

Does anyone have more? I'm sure I've missed some.

there are more chapter titles, havnt watched the dvd in a few weeks tho so i forget, i will post again after i watch again.

While I think P.J. has done a more than heroic job of bringing LOTR to the screen, I also think he's entitled to "move things" a bit to make the story flow for those not familiar. This way he appeals to all audiences.
After all, no one in history has ever made three movies at the same time.

Right after they see the Balrog in its light form, Gandalf says, "To the Bridge of Khazad-dum." I know there's more. I'll check.

I know this isn't exactly a quote or chapter title, but isn't Gandalf supposed to set off the dragon firework?

You misunderstand me, Spock. I'm not nit-picking, I just wanted to see if anyone else noticed chapter titles or lines said by other characters.

I think you've about covered it as far as chapter titles. There's a Knife in the Dark, which we see vividly though no one says it. Also Galadriel says something about The Mirror of Galadriel, doesn't she?
The rest of the chapters are pretty basic descriptions of what's happening, i.e. the Breaking of the Fellowship, the Flight to the Ford.

OH, sorry about that. Nit-picking bugs me but finding errors in films of all types delights me.
I'm just sensitive to Tolkein I guess.

I bet they said Lothlorien in the movie. And I don't know if it was an exact quote, but Gandalf's speech about Gollum and life and death and how Gollun still has a part to play.

I noticed that in the movie Galadriel says "This task was appointed to you and if you do not find a way...no one will" I believe in the book Elrond says that.

I've found another one. In the movie, when they are climbing Caradhras and Frodo loses the Ring, Boromir says, "Is it not a strange fate that we should suffer so much fear and doubt for so small a thing?" In the book he doesn't say this until The Breaking of the Fellowship on Amon Hen before he tries to take the Ring.
