Increasing Casket and Coffin prices.
In these times of a crunching economy, the inflation which has crept up in the Coffin and Casket prices is just phenomenal!
A dead man is cheaper than a living one they say. But the caket/coffin you buy for the passed one leaves you with your doubts. $300 for a traditional one. $350 for a non traditonal. $400 for a designer (swiss designer) (and a vault to keep the dead one in mummy form) ... ... .. the price just shoots up. My question now: What does this imply? Does this imply that we should leave our struggling professions and join these Casketer's?* Or does this imply that we change the lifestyle of the dead ones' and give them a somewhat more modest GAME OVER? Or change things completely and burn the corpse and throw the ashes in ash land? What do you think?

Only a $100 difference between Traditional and Swiss Designer? Then why would anybody in their right mind go for Traditional?

Well I don't think there's much we can do about. But reading your post I thought that it might imply that with today's (American) economy so bad, they might be taking advantage of a lot of people. Dead ones for example, are easily taken advantage of.
But being ashed was always cheaper anyway. Hmmm... bad news for Blackheart.

Being burned up is the cheapest and best way to go. Your ashes get to be scattered anywhere.

You do realise that most cremations still require you to buy a coffin, right? The only money you're saving is if you don't buy the plot.

When my mother passed away earlier this year we had to buy a coffin even though we were cremating her. And boy, I've got to say that the funeral business has GOT YOU. What, you're buying the cheapiest, ugliest coffin for your MOTHER!!! The list of expenses goes on and on...but the coffin is pretty much at the top of the list. My sister and I had to find humour in the fact that we were essentially burning 2000 dollars along with dear old mom.

well cheap, but far from the cheapest. I have come to the conclusion that zohroastrians do this best. they simply let the corpse at rest in vulture land, and let the vultures do their thing. leave it one morning, and the next day you have a vacancy!
