Re: Nazghul Picture

Go to the Tolkien Trail homepage www.tolkientrail.com and look for a link to 25 HOBBITS. Look at the top 25 sites there and you will find plenty that feature some great artwork. Browse through these, and you will not only enjoy the view, but you'll find lot's of what you're looking for.

Here is another link that I found that has a lot of very good pictures:

Happy Nazgul Hunting!

Welcome to the board!

If you're satisfied with a tiny facial portrait, you can use the nice icon

Re: Nazghul Picture

So Nazghuls are dragon type things? I play a MUD (don't know if you heard of it or not) that made me think that they were demonic beings with no physical existence, kind of like an outline or an aura...

Re: Nazghul Picture

Dragons? No! Their steeds are giant carrion birds which are sometimes depicted resembling dragons, but the Nazgul are, like you said, beings with no real physical being. They wear cloaks which give them shape, but are just shadows with eyes and a crown, the way I picture them. Frodo seemed to see them more concretely as vaguely humanoid demons when he had the ring on.

Re: Nazghul Picture

The Nazgul were Men, at one time. But now they're wraiths, invisible, shapeless(in our realm)creatures. To give them shape, they wear black robes. They often ride on dragon-like things(after their black horses were killed, that is).

They can be "seen", though, if you are wearing the One Ring(or one of their Rings, I suppose). If they had a shape, it would be that of a Man. But now all you can see of them is their glowing red eyes.

Re: Nazghul Picture

I finished The Hobbit a while ago, and i'm about 1/5 through The Fellowship Of The Ring, not to be a spoiler or anything, but from what I've heard it sounds like black riders are nazghuls, is this correct?

Dragonz

I thought they were dragons because I went to a site with an art gallery and looked at a picture that was labeled "Nazghul", and had a woman fighting a large dragon-type creature.

Re: Nazghul Picture

Indeed... Well, let just say the Nazgul in the picture you saw is the rider of the beast you see the woman fighting

Re: Nazghul Picture

That's just one of the Nazgul beasts. The actual Ringwraith is the rider on it.

Thought I might mention this, but Nazgul is spelled wrong in your name.
