The Ring's Power
When the One Ring was destroyed, what happened to all the power contained in it? Did it go into Middle Earth? Did it just vanish?

Nothing happened to it, it was destroyed. That's why Sauron was reduced to impotence, he put most of himself in the Ring, so when you destroy it, most of him is gone forever, making it impossible for him ever to return.

What I'd like to know is..... the THree Rings were forged before Sauron made the One, and they were fully functional before the One was made. So why would they lose their power when the One was destroyed?
Maybe the Three Rings drew on the Morgoth-magic permeating Arda, and when Sauron made the One Ring he "hacked" into the THree's "programming" code, re-routing the Morgoth-magic through the One Ring. Sauron's Ring became a "conduit" of the Three's magic. I suppose Celebrimbor alone could have fixed the situation, but that would take time, and he would probably need to examine the One Ring . |

Sauron "guided" Celebrimbor in the making of the Three. He knew when he forged the One, it would have dominion over the Three...that was his plan.

Yup. The One Ring was made to 'rule them all'.
