Favourite word

What is your favourite word?

Apparently "mother" has been voted the most beautiful word in the English language:

(An Anglo-Saxon word, I'm pleased to note )

Agree? Disagree?

My favourite word is quality but I wouldn't say that it's the most beautiful word.

mother is an okay word. I like the word Mouth, Hair and Finger Tips. They are all so normal but somewhat romantic.

Hey, what's with JD and tessar using those "u"s in their words?! Isn't the corruption supposed to work the other way? (those damned insidious 'z's!)

<edit>

It's pulchritudinous, not Pulchertudinous, Tessar.

Onomatopoeia

I have this word that I really like but I can't remember it right now. I like 'coalesce' too. I don't know, I love a lot of English words.

"mesmerize", "chanticleer" and "Laurelin" (sp?) (surely Tolkien didn't invest much thought into each name for nothing )

Hey, BoP,
Be a little eleemosynarius to the pulchritudinous, if you don't mind!
And, really, on this thread you choose to use "little" when a whole thesaurus of possibilities waits your command! Miniscule/minute/lilliputian/even, horrors, the politically correct: height challenged, vertically challenged/microscopic/munchkin.......................................... .....

My favourite word of the day is "oh". JD says it all the time when we chat.
