War of the Last Alliance...
Does anyone know if the Dwarves also helped out in this? Everything I have only talks about Men and Elves, but I find it hard to believe that the Dwarves didn't help out at all. Does anyone know if they did or not and if not what where they doing?
*edit* I just found this on the Encyclopedia of Arda: "The entire alliance that marched on Mordor seems to have consisted of more the merely Elves and Men. There is a record of at least some of the Dwarves of Durin's Folk fighting with the Alliance, and indeed Of the Rings of Power and the Third Age, in its description of the Alliance and its enemies at the Battle of Dagorlad, tells us: 'All living things were divided that day, and some of every kind, even beasts and birds, were found in either host, save the Elves only.' (Taken literally, this would seem to mean that Gil-galad and Elendil even had Orcs at their command, though that is unlikely to be Tolkien's intention!) Despite this, it is clear that the Alliance was primarily one between the races of Elves and of Men." Can anyone elaborate on this?

In this place will I abide, and my heirs, unto the ending of the world.' 'Then Tuor arrayed himself in the hauberk, and set the helm upon his head, and he girt himself with the sword; black were sheath and belt with clasps of silver. Thus armed he went forth from Turgon's hall, and stood upon the high terraces of Taras in the red light of the sun. None were there to see him, as he gazed westward, gleaming in silver and gold, and he knew not that in that hour he appeared as one of the Mighty of the West, and fit to be father of the kings of the Kings of Men beyond the Sea, as it was indeed his doom to be; but in the taking of those arms a change came upon Tuor son of Huor, and his heart grew great within him. And as he stepped down from the doors the swans did him reverence, and plucking each a great feather from their wings they proffered them to him, laying their long necks upon the stone before his feet; and he took the seven feathers and set them in the crest of his helm, and straightway the swans arose and flew north in the sunset, and Tuor saw them no more.' -Of Tuor and his Coming to Gondolin "Oh. There is specific mention of an army of Durin's folk marching with the last alliance, earlier in that same passage that is quoted in part the encyclopedia of arda
