I'm just going to repost my question as it changed threads and no one is going to look back to the end of the last thread just for my question right?
Well better stop explaining it and get down to posting it!

My question:
Why are some parking lot lines yellow and some white? It's nuts! There are white and yellow lines for cars and the little crosswalk like things in different colors or the same! And offen eather way they're right next to each other!

And if it is that they can use the colored lines however they want, why not green? Or red? Or even purble?

I hope I'm allowed to repost this (worryed smiley)

Do you know that in order to have your number retired by the Red Sox you need to be in the hall of fame and have ten years in a Red Sox uniform. Given that, what number will be retired next?

In the US, most states and local governments use white lines to mark legal parking, yellow to mark places NOT for parking. Paint runs out and so sometimes they use yellow to mark the spaces when there are still white markings left................confusing isn't it.

The answer is, either 14 or 21. 21 is several years off because he came back out of retirement and won't be eligible for the Hall soon unless he dies suddenly. 14 could happen next year as he has been getting more and more votes every year and only needs 53 more votes this year. Dost thou know of whom I speak?

Ah, thank you. This kinda takes the point away from my 'mysterys of life' threads so I guess I'll post all the odd conundrums here (Provideing they're on topic)

Another question:
Why is pi (The number) pronouced the same as pie(the food)? Is this on topic? The topic of this thread isn't very clear to me.

I'm guessing that in Greek, it would be pronounced "pee", but EH gave as good an explanation for the corruption as any.
