The White Stripes
Anybody else here listening to this very talented band? I discovered them on MTV2 from the "Fell in Love With a Girl" video, which is very cool. The video is all "lego animation".
Last week they performed at the MTV Movie awards, and they did a great job. Anybody else see them? |

The new rock station I listen to has been playing the single for about 4 mos. Great tune - sticks in your head. Very reminescent of the sixties sound + punk.

Wow, somebody actually replied.
It does kind of have a retro sound to it. Have you listened to the song Dead Leaves on the Dirty Ground? I really like that one. |

I don't have the CD yet, but I'm thinking about it.

Could somebody please slap them with a large trout for me? They make me cringe, not to mention nearly toss my cookies. I've smelt some crap in my day, but this is the kind of stink armageddon is made of.
And yeah, I meant every word. |

Sometimes being different isn't that good. Especially when you sound like them.

Well...punks are kind of 'geeks'. People call emo/indie music 'punk', but it's not really, even though emo has punk roots. And blah blah blah...
I don't really like The White Stripes, they irritate me to no end. That's not music! The Legomation was pretty interesting though, refreshingly different. Too bad the 'music' isn't better.

Well, I listened to one song I downloaded off kazaa yesterday: "I fell in love with a girl." Hmm. The music doensn't do much for me, but then punk isn't about music, it's about the message. However. I can't actually hear anything. I'll try a couple more songs, but I have to say, I'm not impressed. I think I'll stick to the Ramones, and Ian Dury and the Blockheads.
