Oh, dear, it's obvious Ben's no hockey fan. Maurice "the Rocket" Richard was the Great One before Gretzky. He had most of the scoring records Gretzky broke. He played for the Montreal Canadiens from the mid 40s to 1960 when they were winning all sorts of Stanley Cups. He's next to God in Montreal... There are 4 solid pages on him in this morning's paper, and that's the English paper. My husband says the French papers are probably Maurice Richard from beginning to end.

Never heard of him. But, we shall all celebrate the fact the devils won on Friday and theyre going to the Stanley Cup finals!

He's also got the record for the fastest number of successive goals - three goals within 21 seconds. In that game, he was named the 1st, 2nd and 3rd star. That's probably the big thing a lot of people remember about him, besides the fact that he's Quebec's provincial hero and common idol...
