How prevent old threads from "falling off"
Some may have noticed that there are now so many new and old threads, that we have reached page 20. After page 20, all messages will begin to "fall off" and never to be seen again. There are two ways to prevent this.
1)Do some "spring cleaning". Delete stupid advertisement threads to make room for the new ones. 2)Creat and "Archives" forum by moving old threads there to make room for the new ones. Either of the procedures will definately work, but since I have no power, I cannot do any more than bring attention to the issue. I personally like number one, but we need someone who will agree to do it. We must take action soon, or some of the greates threads of Entmoot will simply "disapear" if we don't. |

I was just thinking...
... that it wouldn't be a bad idea to delete advertisement threads. It'd clear out the forum, and it'd also send a clear message to spammers that their message won't get read if they start new advertisement threads.

Re: I was just thinking...
hmm I'll delete the latest: "Sparky Boards" Its stupid to cloese them rather than delete them......If you close them, people still read them! We, the moderator force could atleast edit the link...

Good. Next time you have some free time, go delete some of the other ones too. I don't see the reason bmilder never deleted any of them.

Re: How prevent old threads from "falling off"
Good idea. We've been talking about this for awhile, and I just did it now.
I have been deleting most of the old advertising threads... there shouldn't be any left, except maybe from the last month or two. |
