The LOTR computer game
I hear there is going to be a computer game for playstation 2 i think on the LOTR trilogy, I don't know about everyone else but this makes me feel a bit uneasy and the words "Cash-in" are brought to mind.

Re: The LOTR computer game
I've moved this thread to this forum because the game concerned is based on the books, not the movies. Hope you don't mind Comic Book Guy
It's called the Fellowship of the Ring. You may become more uneasy. Just a tad. Fellowship of the Ring Game Fiery Sting, hostile badgers and angry mushrooms, oh my! Look at the bright side. We've seen horrible video game translations before, this one just has better graphics. |

Re: The LOTR computer game
I suppose people who haven't read the books but seen the movie will buy it, as for Tolkien fans....

Re: The LOTR computer game
Even they'll have bones to pick; 'hey, what's this got to do with the movie?' Gamers will like it and some Tolkien fans. I know I will enjoy it. I would prefer an epic, but I am sure it will be a fun game. I understand the purist point of view, being one, but the only thing to do besides silently protesting is to look at it artistically.

Re: The LOTR computer game
from what i understand, the game will be on the Mocrosoft X-box and will be based on the Books (not the movies). it will be an Action/Adventure game. its being made by the Seattle based company WXP3D. they are a sub company or at least working under Seirra(the death and destruction of Middle-earth Online).
i personally would give the game a try. im hoping it wont be a Zelda clone and im pretty sure it wont be(due to the feedback from a Mr Adam Kahn on the VN message Boards). Mr Kahn assures me that there wil be a 1-player-RPG based on Middle-earth, but that at this time he's not working on it. i at this time have no prejudgements, and am eager to play any quality game based on Middle-earth. it is doubtful that i will buy an X-box with my lack of monetary funds, but i will find a way to play it. |

Re: The LOTR computer game
It is a curious thing, the number of people here who go on the Middle-earth Vault.
