What dodgy 70s sitcom characters are like LOTR characters?

It just occurred to me that Private Fraser out of Dad's Army is just like the vala Mandos. They're both undertakers and they both go around the whole time saying "we're dooooomed".

Seeing as how it's nearly time to go home, what other pointless LOTR parallels can we draw with dodgy 70s sitcoms?

Tom Bombadil and Goldberry: Tom & Barbara out of The Good Life

Legolas: Mr Humphries out of Are You Being Served?

These are American tv shows, but you might be familiar with them..

Beren and Luthien remind me of Major Nelson and Jeannie from "I Dream of Jeannie" - M. Nelson is a nice guy and very capable, but when the going really gets rough, Jeannie always saves the day, just like Luthien did for Beren when they were with Morgoth!

Turin reminds me of Gilligan in "Gilligan's Island" - poor guy, he means well, but always fouls up!

I'm sure if JRRT is reading this thread, he's cringing!
