The Saga of the Ring
Hi, I am new to Tolkien, but AFAIK "Lord of the Rings" is a part of a story called "The saga of the Ring" or something like that. Could anyone tell me how many books there are in the entire "Saga of the Ring" story, and in which order they come? Thanks in advance!

Re: The Saga of the Ring
Greetings, chogall. Tolkien wrote many books set in Middle Earth, of which LotR is the highlight, but it wasn't really a named series. You can start out with The Hobbit, but keep in mind that this one was intended for a younger audience. It's a short prelude compared to Lord of the Rings, Tolkien's masterpiece. It's so long that it's often divided into three individual books: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and Return of the King. After you finish that and are still interested (and why wouldn't you be? ), there's The Silmarillion, a more in-depth look at the creation of Middle Earth and its early years. Hope that helps

No problem, chogall. Celeborn, well, it's considered proper etiquette at the Jedi Council forums to address the person you are speaking to with their username in bold, I guess that stuff finds its way over here .

I don't even know HOW! I just use Capitols to accent something.

Re: :)
Gimli, if you are interested.... bold: bold use <> around the b and /b instead of []
