To my knowledge, places are only taking pre-orders for the Theatrical version, I am waiting for the extended cut special edition... (For more info go to http://www.foolofatook.com/LotRblog/ and view the April 23 and 29th posts.)

I'm just going to rent the August release of the movie and just wait for the 4-disc DVD set.

Speaking of which, I thought rent versions came out a few months before they were available to buy?
Surely then FotR will be available to rent within a month or so? Hairy Potto is out to buy now (soon?) and that was only a month before FotR, so *fingers crossed* |

Has everyone visited TORn recently? There's a link to a site with a list of the extras on the DVD.

Well, I went ahead and ordered the Aug. release (Blockbuster has a promo going on), and I'll just get the Nov. release, too. I ordered it in regular rather than widescreen, though. Would that make a difference as far as features? I'm going to get the widescreen version of the Nov. release. Curse those money grubbers for making me buy it twice!

Eeeesssshhhh!! This is starting to look very expensive. I wont bore you with the details of the price - i am sure that there is an old thread about costings - but this is how I am working thing.
1. Buy the Video first time round (I don't have a DVD player unless anyone wonts to buy one for me? no? ok) 2. Wait 4 years and buy the 16 set DVD for about a squillian pounds and sit back and watch 12hrs of back to back to back LotR! 3. Slowly become one with my sofa and remote. luv Play Girl xxx

i orderd my copy from Blockbuster, and as we all know, i got 10 free movie rentles with it! but i heard that now Blockbuster has a buy 1 get 1 free deall allso!
unfortently, if i wont the theatical version i have to get this one, and if i wont the directer cuts version (sorry PJ for useing that term) then i must buy both! you can not get both of them on the exstended version, and i wont the origanal one b/c it is PG13 and i wont the other one b/c it has exstra footage, but i hoord somewhere that it was R and then some of my friends wont be allowed to see it!

It is R ?! Ooooohhh..... I hope it isn't...... I paid about 30 dollars for it (Mom paid the rest) and I might not be able to watch it?!?
It will not bode well for Amazon.com if it is.....
