Who here read the Foundation series by Isaac Azimov?
I’ve just read “Foundation and Earth”, and I must confess, I feel disappointed, considering the original trilogy quality.

well I read anything that I could find from Asimoves books, but I don't remmember the name. i read "foundation and earth", is it the last one in the sirie?
I think so, if it is; I didn't liked it in the begining but I got used to the idea with the time.

Ugh. The series really went down-hill after the original trilogy. The first three were amazing; the rest were rubbish. I haven't read the prequel yet.

I must agree the trilogy completed the story and after that anything else was and is unnecessary.

Yes Elbereth, you are right, it is the last book.
I wonder if it is any good to read the one by David Brin, “Foundation's Triumph.”

well, I'm really confused with the order and names of the books, I didn't read them in the right order.
I liked the most " the second foundation and the book befror them. I'm not sure if it is one of the first three .

I'm in the middle of Foundation and Empire. Will make sure to avoid those post-trilogy books, which won't be hard since I only own Foundation, F & E, and Second Foundation.
I *have* read a companion book to the series - I guess it's the prequel you're talking about - Forward the Foundation, that goes into the story of Hari Seldon in more detail. I really liked it. It was much more personal and character oriented than the more big-picture-y trilogy. Random question: is there any big difference between the original and revised versions of Foundation? Since I own the original, I'm hesitant to go out and buy the new version unless there's major changes.

I read up to the fourth one I think, then I got bored and gave up. I thought the first one was the best out of all of them. By this thread, I don't think I'll bother reading the rest of the books.

I read the original trilogy about twenty years ago. I am thinking about reading them again. Peace.
