The LOTR TRAILER thread!

Hoo boy, I thought I'd start one right now so we can all discuss this tomorrow. (Always jumping on the gun.)

My my, what I do for LOTR. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - one of the two movies I've been most hyped about since The Phantom Menace (the other was Gladiator) - comes out in my city tomorrow. But I'm putting it off until Sunday... why? To see Thirteen Days, of course!

I can't wait...

Do you think the trailer will be up on the site tomorrow morning? I'm going to check before I leave for school...

The trailer won't be on the official site tomorrow, unfortuatly. However, I have heard that it'll be up next Friday or thereabouts.

And I can't wait to see the trailer! I don't know if I'll be able to wait until Saturday or if I'll just rush out tomorrow night to see it.

There's going to be a major official site overhaul tomorrow, though, trailer or not.

BUT SO DAMNED SHORT!

Anyway, my favorite part was the brief exchange between Galadriel and Frodo. Must have been the expression on his face. The scenery throughout was great... good aerial shot of Caradhras... the shot of the Orcish army in the beginning is definitely reminiscent of Alan Lee, and actually reminds me of the very beginning of Gladiator, somewhat. A brief shot of the Nazgul riding in broad daylight (same one as on the calendar)... and near the end, when the release dates are being shown as the Fellowship (and Bill the Pony! WOOHOO!) walks by one by one - wow.

I want another trailer. Soon. This one was such a tease.

The movie was ok. BUT THE TRAILER ROCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was worth sitting through a movie where a grip screwed up 4 (count em, four) times and a microphone was visible on the screen. My favorite part was when the Fellowship walked slowly by! Aragorn and Borimir were amazing!!! What was that thing on top of a pillar with people standing around? A coronation or something like that?

Oh, and what idiot changed the trailer on the official site to real player??? I hate real player!!!

But anyways, go see 13 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The trailer was nice, but there really wasn't much there. There couldn't have been more than 10-20 seconds of ACTUAL footage, and the whole thing wasn't more than 45 seconds.

I'd be dissapointed, but I suppose what New Line is smart. The movie is a year away, so they are just giving a little tidbit out to get audiences just a little interested, and as time goes on will probably give them mor and more until they are just DYING to see the film.

Well, it was only a teaser trailer. You can't expect too much actual footage on it. But what there was(that I saw on the little bootleg there) was amazing. I can't wait!

I saw 13 Days last night, after a frantic drive to the theater in terrible traffic, running across the parking lot and through the theater, and finally arriving just as the teaser began. Excellent timing on my part, I must say. Anyway, I was very impressed, but it's so short! We desperately need to see more footage soon. Oh, and 13 Days was also a very good movie, even if the grip kinda left the boom mike in a few scenes.

The trailer was good. It didn't blow me away or anything. It was remarkably like the other one, same music and everything. The movie wasn't bad.

What do you think bmilder, should they have given audiences more or is this the right way to do it?

I'd say building up slow is good, except the word is that it will be 3-5 months before there is another trailer! That is almost TO slow.

One thing I should have paid attention to but didn't:

At the end, when the Fellowship is walking onscreen one by one (with BILL THE PONY!)... were the heights of the hobbits already adjusted? Because if they were, it was seamless... I didn't notice a thing.

Did anyone catch the relative heights of the hobbits to those of the others?

I think they were adjusted for height differences. Not entirely sure, but I think they were.

i must say i expected it better. after the first preview i thought they'd do something more impressive.

You people are spoiled. What'd you expect, a documentary? It was 1:46!!! That's plenty for so long away. Yes, the heights were ajusted, and since I didn't realize this till a while afterwards I guess they did an awesome job!

I believe that the hobbits were of hobbitual size.

The Fortune City site is a faster download. I had to save it to disk rather than open it directly.

That's the first pirate video I've ever seen! (Aside from "Song of the South!")

El anillo pasa a enmarcar otra escena. Comienza la misma música épica que pudimos disfrutar en el primer trailer. Aparecen los ejércitos de Mordor (podrÃ*an también ser los de Saruman). Están subiendo una colina, portan armas al hombro y estandartes ondean al viento. El paisaje es oscuro y se ve niebla al fondo. Puede ser la escena terminada de lo que nos decÃ*an que era un test de la WETA sobre tomas masivas en el primer trailer. IMPRESIONANTE.

They are raising a hill, they carry arms to the shoulder and standards wave to the wind. The landscape is dark and fog is seen the bottom. It can be the finished scene of which they said to us that it was a test of the WETA on massive takings in the first one to trailer. IMPRESSIVE.

Alguien se arrodilla (su ropa se parece a la de un hobbit) como para ser nombrado caballero. Personalmente pienso que pueden ser las llanuras de Rohan y Theoden nombrando a Merry escudero o algo asÃ*.

Somebody kneels down (its clothes are looked like the one of hobbit) like being named horseman. Personally I think that they can be the plains of Rohan and Theoden naming to escudero Merry or something thus.
