Your favourite place
What is your favourite place, and why?
Mine is Sintra, I love the woods (besides the native oaks, trees from every corner of the world were planted there, many over two centuries ago. And then there are the castles and the palaces). Pity that I haven’t gone there in years.

My front yard garden. I use a lot of scented plants and ones that attract hummingbirds and butterflies. I have a small pond with a little trickling waterfall. I set my chair up beside the pond and bring out a book and I'm in heaven.

There's a little stream in the middle of a mini gorge near my home that blocks out civilization nicely. It's so clear, I could almost imagine it was the Nimrodel or something. There are rocks on the edge so I can sit down and read.

As you can see, I don't hang out here muchly anymore. There's a good reason for this. Y'see, I've been hanging out at a different chatboard called Cardboardia. So far, I've been havin' a blast. Not that I don't love the TLA, but the magic of Entmoot is lost on me. So, as soon as TLA ends, so will my existance here, probably. Who knows though? I might stay. Highly unlikely however. This is a good bye in advance, then. Unless you want to join me and my group of friends at Cardboardia. Cheers! |

I've seen pictures of Elvet's garden, It is so lovely! I love my gardens also, I've worked for years on them. They were originally icky no-till corn fields full of weeds and old corn stalks. I've got them all treed up with paths and irregular shaped flower beds edged with field stone, All organic with wind chimes, butterflies and lots of birds. I want them to look like the Great Smokey Mountains National Park, another favorite place. I practically get high when I walk into a good flea market or estate sale where some kid is selling a whole house of great grandma's stuff for pennies. You step in and it's like you went back to the 1940"s. Ooooooh!

I have two, but one I can't go to anymore.
When I was a kid, my friends and I would wander out in the woods behind our apartment complex. We had this spot, which used to be an old outdoor church (some said it was during the depression, I have no idea when). All that was left, was the large wooden cross and some pews. We used to hike up there and it over looked the "valley" below. The guys nicknamed it the Sanctuary. We would go there a lot to hang and as we got older other stuff. There was a flat rock nearby and the guys nicknamed that "Weathertop" We were our own fellowship back then. Now there's a place nearby where I live now. It's in a county park. A big, old Willow tree next to a creek. I go an lean against the tree to relax or to think. It's also the spot where I saw my honey for the first time as well.

The outside of a math classroom my friends and I used to sit against during our lunch break in high school. It was back when we had no worries other than whether or not we were gonna cut third period or what to eat for lucnh. Just thinking about it brings back great memories!

My favorite place is my best friend's house, since that's usually the place where he's at. It's also a very.. erm.. beautiful place, since there's a big open field and lots of trees.

The creek beside the barn, or the creek near my house. I love the sound of water. It's very peaceful.

Anywhere with a rugby league team and a decent real ale pub.
But for more contemplative times, the beach at Bamburgh or maybe the terrace of a little converted farmhouse in the Auvergne on a summer's day with plenty of wine...

warm beer and linament - a truly wholesome place to be ! Draken you are a man of taste indeed , mayhap you were a dwarf in an earlier life - i really believe durins folk invented real ale and wouldnt be surprised if they also invented rugby league ( i think elves invented rugby union, not much tackling so they can all stay nice and clean ) imagine 13 bearded dudes in scrum caps , frightening!

The grounds of a massive old house in the country which belongs to friends of my parents. Hardly anyone lives there, so it's always quiet and peaceful and misty and green. Or my own much smaller garden. There are so many beautiful places in the world...
