What do you sound like?
Following the success of the other thread I thought I'd make a new one.
BUT...voice posts are turned off! So can you please turn on voice posts, it's not like they're gonna do any harm! |

Re: What do you sound like?
Taking off voice posts makes the Add Reply pages load about ten times faster, and it screwed up Netscape so I turned it off.

Re: What do you sound like?
umm, bmilder, Entmoot & Netscape weren't a good combination since i've been here - this site made me convert & use IE because of all the annoying little Netscape problems.
voice posts? didn't know they had that... WAV files would be good though, some of us have slow modems. or RAMs (realaudio), they're usually not as big & slow to download. as for what i sound like, when i'm singing or talking? people say i have a european-ish accent, which i never notice but people don't hear their own voices the way others do unless they listen to a recording (which i avoid unless i'm singing & have to) aryne * |

Re: What do you sound like?
Yes, but some of us still use Netscape. And some of us have a Mac which would prevent us from using the feature anyhow. Now mind you we are few, but we don't want to be left
out. Besides, I doubt juntel (wasn't that you??) would like to send me a converted file every time someone posted a voice message, just so that I could here it. I am right in saying that......you don't want to do that, do you?? |

Re: What do you sound like?
voice messages almost never load on netscape and then everything freezes and I have to restart my computer!

Netscape's worked fine with Entmoot so far...
... for me, anyways. I haven't seen any huge threads here like on NTS, so the infamous table/stop bug hasn't come up very frequently.
I just disabled voice posts right off the bat in my profile - it's the Internet equivalent of bloatware. |

Re: Netscape's worked fine with Entmoot so far...
There are some old threads with voice posts in them, if anyone cares to dig them up...
Also, you can put a voice post on your personal profile and tell people to go listen to it. Helpful as always, |

Re: Netscape's worked fine with Entmoot so far...
I remember you singing the Ring poem, it was quite good, Elanor.
Yes, anduin, i did tell you long ago i would do that. The subject never came up. Ezboards voice thingy isn't so nice... One solution would be the HearMe java applet (irc emulation on web), but still there the streamed sound is compressed, and not real nice to hear. Best solution, maybe, would be for someone to record his/her voice/message, compress it in RealPlayer ra or MP3, put it on a personaly web space, and give link to it; that way, no annoying applet, just a link to go to (or not to go to)... |

Re: Preferably MP3...
Another good idea to hear these sounds would be to trash your mac and get a PC. If your problem is Netscape, use IE. Almost every PC comes with IE.

The Apple people love to compare their G4 to the Pentium 3... why don't they ever compare it to its price equivalent, the Xeon?
