Elladan and Elrohir: Aren't they the coolest?
Who is else just loves these two guys?
They went after their mom when she was captured by the orcs, killed all the orcs, then went after EVERY SINGLE ORC in Middle Earth and practically wiped the race out before they stopped!!! How noble is that? Gotta love 'em. PLUS, they were friends with Aragorn! Gotta love that too! I love these brothers, and I think they deserve WAY more recognition than they are getting and I wish they would have been in the movie more! Namarie, Maren

Like many of Tolkien's creations the brothers hint at larger untold stories. Elf lords in the prime of their life, wise yet fierce, on a mission of revenge. And twins to boot! They would have made for some interesting stories.

*sigh* That is the thing that frustrates me the most. There just isn't enough information!

There's probably a lost/withheld manuscript waiting to be published by Christopher in the works

I THINK Tolkien made a few "mistakes " concerning the brothers.

Well, they were half-elven, but later in the same chapter it says: "The Company camped beside the Stone, but they slept little, because of the dread of the Shadows that hedged them round." This obviously can't include Legolas as feeling dread; but it's not explicit. So maybe he just wasn't as explicit as he could have been and overlooked it. Elladan takes up the rear of the Company but he doesn't seem afraid of the 'ghosts' even though they're right behind him.

There is an older thread about Elladan and Elrohir here. Please continue this discussion there.
