Virus Alert
There is a virus going around today that has spread from Asia and Europe and is now affecting North America. It is called the "Love Letter" virus. If you receive an email with the word "love" in the title, don't open it! If you open the message, ALL your mp3's and jpg's will be instantly corrupted. If you open the attachment, every file on your computer will be deleted. The virus had caused $300 million worth of damage in North America alone by 9 a.m. This also isn't one of those bogus virus alerts, because it's also on the news websites! (click here for the CNN.com article) The virus was even found at the company my dad works at this morning, although he didn't get it personally.

Re: Virus Alert
No, it's not strangers. If infected, it sends the message to everyone in your address book. That's the scary part. So something that looks like a stupid chain letter from a friend could really be the virus, and not just in this instance.

Re: Virus Alert
I tried to thank you earlier and the post didn't go through! So I'll thank you now! My husband had called me from work to warn me, but he's always warning me about all the bogus viruses, so I don't usually take it seriously. Then I saw your warning, and I checked my e-mail. Sure, enough, I had two of those messages from my dad of all people. If I hadn't been warned, I'd have opened them, for sure! So thanks for saving my computer today, Ben, I appreciate it!
