I know what it is that you saw
In the scene of the mirror of Galadriel. Galadriel says to Frodo "I know what it is that you saw, for it is also on my mind". But how did she know that what he saw was the same thing that was on her mind?
Sorry, second geeky thread in this forum, but I have to get these things off my chest |

Ooooo, that's a good one! I don't know. That's a damn good question.

I could be wrong, I should breally read the books again. But I think it was because of her ability to read the thoughts.

Seeing as in the movie after Frodo has looked into the mirror, Frodo and Galadriel talks to each other without moving their lips. So Galadriel could indeed read thoughts and thus she could know "what it was that Frodo saw".

Actually, the words of Galadriel were taken from the book:

Unfortunately, I don't remember what it was that Frodo last saw in the mirror in the movie. Was it the Eye as well? |

I believe it was the Eye. Because it appeared, and it seemingly was trying to drag the Ring towards it...if I correctly remember.

Yes, but we talked about what he saw last. I saw the movie a couple of days ago and I'm 99% sure it was the Eye.

Oh, okay. And yes, it was the eye. I think... lol. He saw a flash of the eye and then grabbed the ring and flung himself backwards.

I should venture a guess that the question is answered in one of two ways.
1) The Mirror was in some way linked with Galadriel, so that whatever it showed was reflected also in her mind. 2) Galadriel read Frodo's reaction, and recognised in it 'that which he saw'.
