I've never looked up any websites on the subject, but a friend of mine receives 'Writer's Digest', and I imagine that they might have a website that could be useful. It's a thought, anyway. *shrug*

Writer's Digest is an excellent place to start. Away from the web, nothing (NOTHING!) beats a writers group/club that edits each other's chapters...best learning experience you can get....uhh, avoid the groups that just like to read to each other, without the editing/correcting/suggestions they become worthless...unless you like to hear others and yourself talk. IMHO

If you're having trouble starting, you could try looking for a website with a blinking red warning message, "Why are you wasting your time on this website? Get writing already!"
Unfortunately, I haven't found one of those yet, which is why I'm still here.

Writer's Digest helps a lot for writers. Its full of tips to improve your writing along with addresses for publishers. They have a writing contest every year. I hope that helps out a little. I used to get it, but I didn't renew the subscription. Stupid me.

BTW...are you allowed to promote your book in a "General Literature" thread once you publish it?

As much free publicity as possible. On top of that, I can be totally oblivious to the fact that I am extremely proud of myself by doing so.
