Dwarven eye sight
Did have good eye sight in the dark.
I have a vague memory of Gimli not seeing too well in Moria.

Like I said, ANOTHER thread? About Dwarves?
Hmm. I can't remember that. But anyway, I think they would have good eyesight (but bad senses of smell, eh Coney? , because they work predominantly in the dark caves. (Or were they all well lit? I don't think so) If Gimli had poor eyesight, perhaps he was an exception. Ok, checking now. These quotes aren't really related to eyesight as such, but: Quote:

They certainly couldn't see very far. Gimli easily dismisses a flock of Crebain for a dark rain cloud. As for seeing in the dark I am sure they are exceptional at it, but I assume all Dwarves must also be fairly near-sighted. After all they work skillfully with their hands a lot and would need to get in close to inspect their own craft. After doing that for any amount of time under little light I am sure their eyesight is not that good.

This is a lot of dwarf threads AE. Oh well. Lin, I think those passages you quoted were from when they were taking the Paths of the Dead. They were refering to Gimli not being afraid of the dark itself, but not becaus he had good eyesight. He was used to the dark but still could not see very well in it. He was afraid of the ghosts. And I would imagine that any dwarf would have a hard time seeing through their piles of hair. They might have tunnel vision.

Yeah, I think that's a real term at least. Like when you're wearing a hood and you can't see left or right or up or down, but only in front of you, like your in a tunnel.
EDIT: Oh. Or maybe you mean somethign else? No pun intended.

I also used to like to role-play and some of the guys here in Japan wanna game. I have not game mastered before and I wanted an NPC that I could play and enjoy for myself, yet not have to much myself in that character. Also, I am the one with the most ME knowledge. If I played a human, too much of me would come through. I have not gamed in awhile and need time to find my grove before I would play an Elf. I 'm just not a into Hobbits, so Dwarves are the creature of choice now

What is NPC? Yes, you have much knowledge of Middle Earth, Baranedhel (sp?). But I am sure that playing a human would be fun as well (but it would be a stretch for me, as they are so strange and unpredictable sometimes). Of Dwarves (Naugrim), it is said in The Sil: Quote:
