The link goes blank on me, I'm afraid. I seem to remember both a viking drakar and a Tall Ship replica with this name. I'm guessing you're referring to the Tall Ship?
I love to visit those ancient-looking boats. Unfortunately they don't visit Antwerp often enough and prefer to moor at the coast cities, half a day travel away from me.

The link works now, but goes to the scandivian page, luckily the little flag on top gives the English one.
So it was the Tall Ship. Very impressive looking.

Indeed it is impressive. Although when it passed the Öresund sound on it's way back from Stockholm to Gothenburg, it looked very small, albeit it was travelling in the lane further away from where we were. A pity I didn't have my digitalcamera then. I might have taken some really good shots.

Wow, I love tall ships! And it's going to China, the old-fashioned way (not through the Suez Canal). That is so cool.

It is indeed a magnificent ship. I took some of pictures of it last year when it was in Stockholm.

The East Indiaman finally reached Canton in China this week, after stops in Cadiz, Recife, Cape Town, Freemantle and Jakarta. That's five continents
The ship will sail to Shanghai where it will anchor for four months before it heads back home to Gothenburg. Hopefully this stay will have a positive effect on Sino-Swedish relations and let Swedish companies get a big piece of the very lucrative Chinese market, which was really the intention of constructing the ship

I'm surprised it didn't come to the Tall Ship Race in Antwerp. Quite a few of them are expected in two weeks time. It's a jubileum year so I think I remember at least a 100 of those beauties will be lining the docks of Antwerp then. I hope I will have time to go and see.

I think they'll anchor her as a kind Cutty Salk museum piece once they're back from China.

Götheborg finally arrived to its last destination Shanghai yesterday. The ship has got a lot of media coverage in China and its arrival was broadcasted live. It will stay in Shanghai until the end of October.
