In the riddle it says "Shortened for more practical use," and cassiopeia guessed the palantir I was just wondering what made (Her? Him? so hard to tell) guess that.
And NO! Mirahzi is not right! And I'm reveling in it, wa ha ha!

I guess that I was thinking that 'shortened' could mean 'lost' in some way, as some palantiri were lost. I am a her, by the way.
Another guess Human#pi: the sapling of the white tree. I am thinking that shortened in this sense means it is shorter than the orignal tree. I am probably wrong, though.

I get people's gender wrong so much online; thanks for not making have to do really wierdly structured sentences which obmit gender!

Ok, that's five guesses (i think. *checks* Yup!) So here's the hint!

Life and happiness were on the wrong track, though it is not a physical object. Tolkien like langauges and being very detailed in his worlds.
