Back from London. Overall a nice trip, though Mom provided a lot of complaining. Also, approximately every hour, she somehow embarrassed me. We were there for 4 days. o_O Well, I bought a lot of music from HMV.

Welcome back Noble! Glad you had a good time. And it's a parent's job to embarrass their children, so your mum should get a raise

My brother is talking about a "he" or "him" that is trying to get him, and whom he wants to kill. He was talking about seeing this "he" earlier tonight. I think it's partly him being drunk, and partly him putting on an act, but I'm not really sure, and I don't know how to react.

I have contemplated going there this year - but only for a weekend. There is a lot of magnificent buildings and monuments to photograph which I would love to have opportunity to do. But I don't have anyone to go with - its always so much better to be two at such a trip - not only for sake of safety.

Anyway, glad you had overall nice trip. Ive been there three times during the travelling years of the early 80s and one trip a couple of years ago. It was ok - but my sister and her two kids were along - so I didnt enjoy it all that much - in the barely 24 hours we were there - we SPEEDWALKED through the town - and in that used up 15 of those hours.

I'd like to go there with a friend who won't rush about like a madman and instead use buses to go from one place to the next - thus saving precious time. Then it would be a great deal more fun. Of course, limiting the number places to visit to a carefully chosen few is necessary. Going here on a Friday afternoon/evening and going back on a Sunday afternoon/evening is what I had in mind.

Well, perhaps I'll manage to find a travelling companion one of these summers and go there. Would be nice.

Have a great day, all!

best Gw

That's true, always better to get lost as two.

I'm afraid I might be a speedwalker, though it's mostly when I know my destination and want to get there quickly.

Actually, the buses are expensive and slow. The tube is much better and cheaper - an all-day ticket cost 6,60£. Whereas the 24-hour access to the sightseeing buses cost 26£. That's for one person.
We chose the London Eye, the Natural History Museum (the restaurant there is excellent), and then some shopping.

*sigh* I'm so disappointed. I tried to Rickroll my family tonight. I made a fake page from my university (which I don't want to broadcast over the entire Internet because I don't want to get in trouble for unauthorized use of whatever) that made it look like they posted a Father's Day video for students and their families. Styled a faux title for it and everything.

And my family is like, "What is this?" I was crushed. It was genius and perfect and they didn't get it! RAR! for people who don't know their Internet stuff.

If it's any consolation, Midge, I and most of my family would have found such a thing hilarious. I'm sure it was a work of underappreciated genius.

Like when the New York Mets got Rickrolled in RL.

I'm sorry, Midge. That sucks. Sounds like it was a lot of work.

If it helps, here's a cute hedgehog.

and a video of some cute puppies.

YOU ARE EXACTLY LIKE MY HUSBAND!!! He totally made me look at videos of baby hedgehogs and puppies last night. (that is a very cute hegdehog...)

Wait, those were Fennec foxes, but puppies are a favorite too. I'm always logged on to Youtube, so all the videos he watches bring up other videos in my suggestions. Usually they have to do with puppies (particularly Welsh corgi puppies) or guns.

ON an entirely different note, check out this guy's moves! (It starts at about 0:15...) It is a country song, so you may want to mute it. But the music makes the dancing all the funnier... If you don't watch anything else, skip to about a minute in and watch him dance about all the "money spent, I put a big down payment on that itty bitty diamond ring".

Edit: TESSAR!!!
(this is a smiley face progression of my feelings)

I didn't watch the video at first, but went ahead and posted this. Then I thought, "Meh, I could use a video of cute puppies." And NOW I want to borrow Earn's gecko!
