I'm glad to hear that, Nel

I'm happy about some cool get-togethers we've had recently. We've been connected to that great children's charity I've mentioned before for quite a few years, but since hubby became a board member a few years back, we've really had some great opportunities to meet people around the world. Last night, we had 3 people from Peru over for dinner, and also had dinner with them earlier in the week. It's so cool to see how God works in all parts of the world. This particular lady works a lot with helping orphans, and also with extremely practical things like improving water supplies, and Children's Hunger Fund has helped a lot with that And a few weeks ago, we had a pastor from Uganda over. So interesting to talk with him, and to discuss some of the religious backgrounds and traditions of his country, and how he became a Christian and how his background was part of that process. That church also has a huge ministry with orphans, most of whom have had their families ravaged by AIDS.

The diversity in the world is so interesting and enjoyable! I really enjoy the different people on the Moot, too, and the traditions and cultures from their countries.

this may be tempting fate, but i am happy that my cat, beverley,
is doing better than she was yesterday

and today i managed a full hour's meditation, which is good for me,
i believe my head has calmed for the time being, although i can feel
the pains again, but they usually pass after about an hour and a half

that all depends on the reason for my meditation, i am currently trying to alleviate pressure on my rear tempular region, so patchouli or jasmine is probably best right now

Ahh, it's good to find someone who understands the subtlies of scent. I use sandalwood for it's properties and have others handy for various needs. I'm sure YOU can understand without my going into it more.

sandalwood eh? if you are using sandalwood, it is a good idea to drink hot black lapsang souchong tea, the two scents together harmonise perfectly

Indeed, but for me, black tea (chinese) with honey works well.

Meditate! How can people meditate? I envy you; I've tried and tried, but cannot find the patience and stillness inside me yet. You know what a good book about meditating is? It's called "Wherever You Go, There You Are"- can't recall the author; my copy's still in storage.

Pema Chodron has a good one "start where you are" Jon kabat zinn wrote where ever you go there you are.

Meditation is a fantastic tool if one can get past the pain.

This is funny, check it out -the thouight just struck me - if you started a thread on meditation, and then everyone jumped on the thread to start arguing about "how to meditate", like I'm right - no I'M right - no I'm right - anyway, that's just hilarious, but can you see it? Arguing about meditation, what an irony... and you KNOW they would, too...
