I thought he sold it to Metro Goldwyn Meyer, or was the someone else.
I think of an adaptation as adapting a work of art from one form of media to another. Success would be determined by how well the ideas and thoughts of the original are shown in the new form of media. In this respect, the movies fail. However, they did make the books more accessible to people, so they are a worthwhile project.
