(BOP - check your PM's please )
Arty - I really admire Hurin, too - what a guy! - but somehow, Tuor's the guy I'd rather live with on a day-to-day basis. He just seemed to treasure Idril and Earendil so much, and he seemed much more passionate - just really in love with Idril. Fun! I love the account in FOG of how he would just grab her and kiss her, he loved her so much. Hurin just seemed more distant - heck, when Morwen was dying, it was like he was chatting with a casual acquaintence but then again, after what he went thru, I suppose it's somewhat understandable. But I would have rather seen a more tender and loving last few minutes between the two of them. Yet even at the beginning, he seemed rather distant to her - of course, she had a bit of an attitude, like Turin.

(I think he prob. knew that! )
Shiny?!?! That reminds me of some article I just read recently, where men are starting to do the hair removal thing, like on chests, necks, and, um, ... you get the picture ... Exactly why, I have NOOOOOO idea! One would think for purely reasons of physics, this would not be a good idea, but whatever ...

So Arty, what do you think of my Tuor/Hurin comparison? Have I changed your mind? (not that you'll pry Tuor away from me!)

Once again we've dropped the Silmarillion forum down to somewhere near the gutter.
Yes, shiny. I was trying to remember why Morgoth wanted Feanor's jewels -- I mean balls -- oh, I give up.
