Well, if you don't mind my interjecting my thoughts here...(although I'm quite interested in hearing yours me9996)
If you are starting from the premise of the failed alien mistake... well that pretty much takes care of how it might happen.
I think that it is possible for everyone in the world to share one religion, it's just not very probable. Even within Christianity there are differences in belief, so in all likelyhood, there would be more differences( if everyone shared Christianity)...and in some cases the fallout might be more severe, because although there would be a commonality among people, it would only make the differences more noticeable...I hope that makes sense to you as much as it did to me. I think that also helps to explain how some of the world dynamics would change. However, if the entire world were to become Christian there would be a large loss of history... although, all the artifacts from earlier would still be there, they would become simply novelties, which would be unfortunate. Being a Christian myself, I think I understand where you are coming from me9996, but I have to say that I think that part of being a Christian is actually making the choice yourself, the step of faith can't be made by anyone else. Much as you might want to save everyone (or even just one other person) belief is something that can't be forced... but now I digress. So to wrap up this disgustingly long post, I will say that if everyone were to end up thinking like me (horrible thought!), I would hope that they would come to a new understanding of their own religion, and be willing to question it, as I question mine. Hopefully this would lead the ones who seek God to Him.

Well, everyone thinks the same way as you, but don't forget that everyone keeps their past experiences. You can't make people do stuff. But if everyone had the same values as Me9996, there might be mass conversions to Christianity. Same with you perhaps.

The only thing that would change in the world's religions in a world populated by Nurvingiel's is fundementalism in all religions would see a very, very sharp decline. However, the people who were fundamentalist would probably stay in their same religion (just as a more moderate believer).

Cults would disband almost overnight.

Nurvingiel you make a valid point about the past experiences. I think I was neglecting that - it[Carafin populated world] would probably in that case be more like a Nurvingiel populated world, once you factor those in. I know that most of the reason I am a Christian is because I was raised one (=past experience).
Conversions to Christianity I'm not entirely sure about... based on diverse cultural backgrounds, there would probably be a (significant) reduction in atheism, and possibly agnosticism. Most likely there would also be a shift towards monotheistic religions as well. As I mentioned above... The main reason I am Christian is past experience.
