I think we should do LotR first, then film The Hobbit as a prologue. Once we've honed our cinematic skills, we could spend roughly 10 years filming the Silmarillion!
Hey Kiwi! We're the team (plus Hector of course)! (If you still want to be Asst. Director that is.) So does everyone want to do the signature thing? Show a little 'Moot Movie pride. Hm. Do you think " 'Moot Movie" should be our slogan? Just kidding!

I was wondering where we should set the movie? I think we should choose one country for continuity purposes.
British Columbia would make an ideal location. In Vancouver, the established movie industry would give us the resources we need. Vancouver is surrounded by the beautiful Cascade mountains, covered with snow in the winter (Caradrhas). We have every type of ecosystem classification in the world, except tropical rainforest. We do have temperate rainforests, and the old-growth ones would make a perfect Fangorn! Last but not least, my hometown of Kamloops, would make an ideal Rohan. Kamloops is a beautiful grassland with rolling hills and Ponderosa Pine forests. There are also many ranches nearby where we could rent horses. Kamloops also has a strong film industry!

You may have found this already but...
http://www.city.kamloops.bc.ca/ http://www.city.vancouver.bc.ca/ Vancouver also has access to places like Stanley Park, Cypress Bowl (which is a provincial park in addition to a ski hill.) And there are also two good bogs we could use for Dead Marshes Scenes. And if you do an image search in google, you get a decent selection.

I would like to help. I don't know if you have any director positions left but I have experience in directing movies. Scriptwriting, screenplay, editing or anything.

Yes, I do have some experience in composing...i performed some of my own music on the piano a little while ago.
I 'write music' in the sense of "thinking it up" all the time, but i'm too lazy and busy to write it down. I'd definently write it down if it gets played in a movie though |

If anyone else has a place they think would be good to film, they should post a description and why they think it's good. Then we can make an informed decision! There's probably tons of great places to film around the world, but I would personally prefer a location that at least one of us knows well. It's super cool we have you as a composer Telmelion! I think original music is the best to have as the main theme of a movie.

It seems like we might not have enough people to fill the major roles. IMHO, whoever has an off camera role should also double as one of the characters. What is LotR without Bilbo? Sucky, that's what!

Well, its been a bit since I've been in here, seems like alot may have happened. Anyway, I was just going to say that casting shouldnt be a problem at all. I'm sure there are many people who would love to fill roles in the movies, and who would do a good job.

I write music. I may be 14, but I must say that some of the stuff I compose is damn good. Maybe I could help with the score.

Anyway, I'd gladly double as a character! Has Lobelia Sackville Baggins been taken yet? Also, have you talked stunt doubles yet? (like I said, haven't been on this thread in a while) I'm guessing we need a few.
