It's about Finwe, I think, though I'm not quite sure where from. A partial attempt:

Darkness and /_l_o_/!/When we could/_o_e/again we came to the/_o_s_/.
There we found the king slain at/the/ door/./_i_/h_a_/w_s/_r_s_e_/a_/w_t_/
a/_r_a_/m_c_/o_/i_o_/./We found no others, all had fled/,/and he had stood alone/,/_e_i_n_/./ That is plain/;/for his sword lay beside him, /t_i_t_d/_n_/
u_t_m_e_e_/a_/i_/b_/lightning/-/_t_o_e/./All the house was broken/and ravaged/. _a_g_t/_s/_e_t/./_h_/t_e_s_r_e_/a_e/_m_t_/./T_e/_h_m_e_/o_/i_o_/i_/t_r_/a_a_t/.

'come' is wrong in the first line
and the second 'as' is wrong in the fifth line.
