A moral of the whole (after the primary symbolism of the Ring, as the will to mere power, seeking to make itself objective by physical force and mechanism, and so also inevitably by lies) is the obvious one that without the high and noble the simple and vulgar is utterly mean; and without the simple and ordinary the noble and heroic is meaningless." I think RotK will have the best chance for Best Picture. They don't wan't to start the trilogy as a winner, leaving expectations high to repeat by default.

Death to the aristocrats!!!
Long live the Repub--wait. Wrong McKellan movie. I think I've already asked you folks if you've seen the Scarlet Pimpernell. You'd get it if you had. g'nite, I have an exam in the morning, else I'd join in the ranting that is sure to follow.

I know Olsonm - I just thought it was important to restate in case anyone might have not understood from my many other posts throughout Entmoot.

Look at it this way though:

Both FotR and ABM won 4 oscars.
But ABM won director / picture which in effect is only 1 cos they measure the same thing.

So in our hearts we know it won more

Bropous screaming fix isn't unexpected really though!

I like what he said about them saying they have 2 more years to award it then not bothering cos it's already won. That sounds scarily like it might come true.

Also, on another note, how lucky are we that we like something that is going to run for a few more years yet? I mean, say you liked ABM or MR, that's it - no more. But we get to carry on talking and enjoying this for ages.

YAY!

I'm happy

And I'm pretty sure that a lot of people will say FotR was robbed - 4 from 13 nominations is a new record low if I remember my facts correctly. But then again, the people who vote are above the 'public / masses / commoners / peasants' (however they refer to us ) so they won't care. But we all know they are stoooooopid...

NO FAIR NO FAIR! (I'm crying...really I am!) I guess I had a biased opinion for everything, because I had only seen a few of the other movies...but STILL. Ian should have won best actor.
But I betcha PJ will win best director after ROtK!

*sniff* I just felt that he deserved something! Gandalf lives! Besides, it's friggin' hard to make a 3D man out of construction paper. He'd better appreciate it.

olsonm - That would would have been worth it to see Bropous blow his top over Moulin Rouge. Just kidding of course. He's blowing his top enough over LOTR not winning - it would have been a thousand times worse with Moulin Rouge winning.
