In English the straight one is a knit stitch V and the bumpy one is a purl stitch O
Everything else is a combination of those, of course. I'm teaching mathematics now, and one of the challenges will be a math problem in knitting. It's fun.

For example.
I'm knitting a sweater with a panel down the front. The panel is 30 stitches wide. This is the pattern: VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO What does it represent?

Well Rinkë, you can keep him
Sis, I don't understand the question, was it supposed to be mathematical? Do I have to calculate things? Please spare me! *looks desperate at the thought of having to do Math*

Ye gods! There's a Twilight show? As in Stephanie Meyers Twilight?
Just goes to show how I've slipped from the fantasy world, if I didn't hear about something like this. *sips assam for consolation*

I hate trig too. I mean, if anything, I tolerate what we are doing right now (pretty much a mix of alg and geom), and its like solving a puzzle, which is cool, but when you've got the pieces missing and you dont know how to get that missing piece, its just time consuming, and confusing, and frustrating.

Mari *hint* your name is in it.
Link, here's the geometry. You have a line. That gets you to the mountain. Then you have an angle. 30 degrees? that would be the exterior angle, so your interior angle is 150 degrees. Then you have another line, that's your progress up the hill. If you drew a line from your current point back to the car, that would be the hypotenuse of a triangle with 2 known side lengths and an angle...yes? I don't know if that helps, any.

I drew my diagram a little bit differently...
I have a long straight line at the bottom, then the mountain arises. from point C to point M (straight line at the bottom) is 2 km. from point M up to where the person is-is 7.2 km (where the moutain arises). the angle connecting points C and M is 144 degrees. 36 degrees is on the inside of the mountain. I need to figure out the measure of the point where the person is to the car. (the line across from 144 degrees). I think I got the answer, but I'm not sure if thats the whole answer or just a part of it

Well, the horses were fine. A colt and a filly, one mustang/quarter cross (filly) and the other was a thoroughbred. Both good horses for what I have in mind, which is trail riding and hunting. The TB colt has a fine disposition and great legs for trail riding, and his breeding promises him to be mid sized, but leggy.
The mustang quarter filly has some serious sass to her, but then again, I like that. She has some powerhouse shoulders already, and she still has that wild game-y sense to her which would be a benefit in hunting. But earning her trust will be a chore; she cleaves very much to her wild mustang heritage. The people that owned them were sleeze balls however... Meh. Anyways, I might just end up getting both, and then have to sort out my time to be able to train them both. edit: oops, didn't realize so many pages were added! Good luck with geometry and math Linky! *glomps everybody else* What's up? Last edited by The last sane person : 10-20-2008 at 04:32 PM. |

Oh~! Sounds good, though I'd probably be scared of riding them. Stroking their noses though... that's so soft! I like that. (Speaking of which, maybe you want to check on LLL, I've been moving you around a bit)
I'm good, watching Pride and Prejudice once more (the BBC-series, not the film). You? Bit thirsty though. Might go down for some water soon.

Heh, I can't even see that part of entmoot anymore. I collapsed the top forums onto themselves, so the only forum I can see are the ones under "Other Topics". But I opened that part back up and posted a responce to you.
