Legolas - the Elf-guy, Legless , Um
Aragorn - not-the-elf-the-other-guy (my mom can never remember his name)
Pippin - Pipkin (arg...)
Sam - Semwise Gamshee
Boromir - Borrowbeer
Galadriel - Gladwrapriel

ARG! Sometimes these make me sooo mad!

My dad calls Frodo "Photo" which ticks me off

and my friends dad call Legolas the "Butterfly Nancing In The Snow"- I almost ate him alive when he said that.

Then my sis calls Frodo "Alien-head" and can never tell Sauron and Saruman's names apart..her excuse: "They're both the bad guys, both after the ring, both after Frodo, and both have ugly creatures chaasing after Frodo...so there really is no difference"
OF COURSE THERE IS A DIFFERENCE

and my mom had a hard time remembering Aragorn's name for a while.....

It's all frustrating!!!!

Fredo- as I was reading this thread I thought the same thing. I read Dúnedain's post and thought it was too old to quote now. Funny coincidence that you did, Lotesse.

Ever since I saw those fake FotR subtitles, I've been talking about hoppits.

I don't see how this has anything to do with this thread. But then again, I didn't read from the beginning, and I am all my friends anyway. Well.....most of them.

I usually don't talk to my friends about LotR, because they don't like it, and I don't want to hear people dissing LotR.
But when I do, these are what mistakes they make:
Frodo = Frolo
Gandalf = Gandy
Saruman = Sauron
Sauron = Saruman
Aragorn = Argon
Elrond = Eyebrows (even though that's pretty funny )
Legolas = Leglas

I can't think of any more right now, but I'm sure there are tons more.

My dad watched Lord of the Rings for the first time last week and he was getting confused between Saruman and Gandalf and he kept calling the Hobbits "the little kids" or the "kids with the swords"
and he could only remember Arwen as "my hero's daughter"
he recognised Sean Bean though and Viggo.

It took a lot of explaining though and he said he remembered better with his names.
so it's still "the kids"

lol it was funny though!

Haha! Er....yeh...

One of my friends keeps calling Gollum "the weird thing in the loin cloth"...hehe

And then my cousin (who is 7), calls Legolas "the pretty girl elf", but I find that really funny

Oh, and Aragorn has been dubbed:
Argon
Rargorn
Gornarag
Aragoog
"the really hot guy I like"- my mother's name for him...at least thats her naem for him when my dads not there...
and simply....."him"

And Borimir is "the mean dead dude" to my family...I don't think they'll ever get it straight! They also confuse Eowyn for Arwen

I was explaining what happened in FOTR and TTT so he could see ROTK with me, but he got a couple names mixed up:

Sauron=Saurom
Aragorn=Aragon
Eomer=Faramir
Faramir=Eomer
Arwen=the one that Liv Tyler plays...

One of my friends called Aragorn Aragon. I was sooo bugged! And she pronouces Legolas wrong (which may be going too far on my part, but..). And then- this is the worst, the cardnal sin- she called Sam Samwise Gumgee. Gumgee!! *puts on Gollum voice* We wanted to wring her filthy little neck!

yes, well, i have no idea what the above parties are discussing, but i side with the president cause i have future ambitions here, and i side with spock cause hes nice in a sick and sadistic way[lol ] and if they're on opposite sides, well, im neutral, but :

though many people come to me since i go to school with many people who read books that are not as thick as my finger, come the lord of the rings movies, they all came for wisdom. i have not the strength of mind, spirit, or fingers to type al the stupidity i heard, but the worst was, upon the premiere of the Return of the King, i quote[note quotations]"those little hobbits were SOOOO cute running off to battle!'. . . that in itself would be bad enough, here's the worst part, it was said by a guy, A GUY! and i swear by all that is Tolkien that he wasn't kidding![shudders]

On the serious side, my piano teacher said that John Williams wrote the music for Star Trek
