Och, the British commentators are SO full of faeces that one would be fairly safe in believing the opposite of whatever bogus moralilty they are peddling.

The BB broadcasting service wishes to announce that we vet ALL our correspondents extremely carefully before assigning them...

We can hereby confirm that our US correspondent Hector 'hot news' is completely clear of Mad cows disease and although one of his udders is slightly inflamed ... he is in fine fettle ... bullish even ...

more to follow as reports come in...

Not looking to beefy yourself, BB.

Alright then ladies and gentlewomen...and men,

A story has just popped up that Germany is a good team.

Said Jo Macky on that really grate(ing) sports show "Germany is Great [!]
(exclamation mark ours, it used to be a question mark there, but we thought we'd bring you something positive and uplifting)

Good Evening, I'm Dan...oops, I'd rather not.

Good Evening, I'm Hector with Hot News.

According to the BBC, french team soccer great Zidane's name does not belie his profession, he is apperantly NOT a rapper.

Mr. Zidane, of Berber descent, has been called by his playmates "the Berber of Seville", alluding to his...uh, um...trip to Spain one time

Mr. Zidane is apperantly shocked that his country (now France) made it to the semi-finals. " C'est une genius! Vive los animaros y todos los an(accent)on para los tres sapatos!" (he LOVED Spain)

Mr Zidane was feeling unselfish today apperantly, and wished Italy a "Heure de feu et de hell". Whatever that means! But we know the french are too good to curse

Right back after the BBC's update on Margie Thatcher's health.

Old crone on the moan

A withered old croan was today arrested for a minor public disorder offence outside parliament. A battered old hag was found wetting herself whilst attempting to access Downing street.

Police said the lady was apparently senile, but that they had a truly terrible time trying to turn her back around towards Whitehall.

The incontinent Oap it appears was just NOT for turning.

Back to you hector ...

*ahem*

back top the World cup please folks!

In general whaddya think? A good world cup or not?

Obviously England were Dire in the extreme.

The Germans better than expected and as a nation and as organisers both got into it and did a very good job and were very hospitable!

In that sense i think it has done a lot of good for breaking down stupid tabloid sterotypes of the germans (barring the blond haired efficiency thing )

Who was your player of the tournament?

The biggest let down?

best achievers?

for me it was great to see Ghana go through!

An excellent world cup. It made all the difference that for at least half the teams, their fans could get to the games. And a typical world cup, in that the winners started slowly and got better as it went on.

Highlight definitely the Italy/Germany semi-final. Both teams really went for it and it took two moments of perfection to separate them. Next up would be Zidane's attack on Materazzi.

England: see BB, this is where you go wrong. The media put their players on pedestals and fail to realise that Johnny Foreigner is actually quite useful at the game. Some of them underperformed (notably Lampard), but the fact is they're not as good as the English public think they are.

I heard one pundit saying that, looking at all the other teams, there weren't many players he'd take in preference to the England players. Clueless. And it wasn't even Ian Wright saying that.

So, I think the quarter-finals was about right. Perhaps with a non-eedjit manager you could have got to the semis and had a chance of doing better. It's a shame, as I would have liked to see Rooney running at the Italian defence.

Bad boys Portugal, of course. Figo looked well past it and their game against Holland was a disaster. Brazil didn't really fire, and were tamed by the first decent defence they came up against. Again, that's usual for world cups held in Europe.

Zidane definitely player of the tournament. The way he tormented the Brazilian midfield was top drawer.

It was a good world cup. Kudos to Guus Hiddink who last world cup brought South Korea to the semies and this time the Socceroos to the 2nd round. I heard he's going to coach the Russian team now.

Nice to see countries new to the world cup, Ukraine and Ghana, advance from their groups. Also cool that Switzerland won their group (ahead of France) since they'll be hosting the European Championship in two years.
