Beppu is on Kyushu, in the Oita-prefecture to be exact.
I agree that lightning is cool, I've spent quite some time watching it yesterdaynight, but I can't really say I like the thunder. Much louder than it is back home. Plus the wind is quite strong and it makes an awfull sound. Actually, I was quite surprised by my own reaction, because I usually like a nice storm. But just too much noise here I do think you miss the fun of making the cake. The so-called "tasting" before it is finished, because you can't have your guests eat a bad cheesecake, now can you? And it's not exactly my fault that half of the cheesecake is gone before it is actually finished

Nice! Vacation? Work? Where do you want to go?
One tip though: do not rely solely on the Lonely Planet for Japan if you want to go anywhere that isn't Kyoto, Tokyo, Osaka or another very big city. And don't think you are getting anywhere with English outside Tokyo. Even in Osaka, which is a big city with quite a few foreigners, the knowledge of English is terrifyingly low. Information can generally be found in English as well though.

I will try to remember that. My knowlege of Japanese is incredibly low as well, so as long as things like waving are universal, I should get along fine.

Believe it or not, things like wavin are not universal. For example, if I remember correctly, in Russia it is considered exteremly rude if you walk about with your hands in your pocket. You'd be surprised in the way certain gestures are interpreted in different corners of the world.

Does anyone notice that something is wrong with Entmoot? It's kind of obvious...
The fact stands that there is nothing wrong with Entmoot, which any day other than today would be good. But does anyone remember what day it is? It's only one of the biggest Entmoot holidays there are...

Yes, yes, I know what day it is... No, I can't say I am overly worried. If anything those that actually participate in this thing will wait till tommorow to pull it to nab those that haven't a clue.

Well, if it's any comfort, Tabby,
I've been nervous all day.
Although I looked forward to the Trek background, lol. Fine work. |

Trek is polarizing,
even at the ideal time.
Many's the drink I've seen tossed when "Best Captain" gets debated. |

Time to break out my "light Western wear." Tuesday night I'm going to go to a volunteer appreciation party at the Living Desert.
