OW OW OUCH! I know what you mean... when you KNOW you shouldn't do it, you won't be able to do it, but you don't listen to yourself and still try. (In my case, the thing was too small to cut, and the knife snapped right into my finger )

Geh, got back and have stitches... I was pretty lucky actually, I could have cut it right off, I almost severed the joint.

*sigh* So, another silly vent of a silly childish girl... who cannot predict her dad's reactions, and has many problems because of that...
'Cause he wasn't glad about the calligraphy pen set I bought yesterday. Especially after I told him the price of it. I should've talked about my intention of buying beforehand, silly me, stupid me.

But in September, when I got that friggin' money from my parents, and we decided to leave the most of it in the bank and take the rest out, we talked about that 'rest' being totally mine, without having to tell what I do with it!

Well, I *always* told them when I bought something. ALWAYS.

I bought textbooks.
I bought 3 books for myself, 2 of them at a very low price (about 1/8 of the real price - bookstore discount...)
I bought clothes and shoes I needed for autumn/winter.
I bought make-up and other girlish thingies - I showed everything and told about everything. No objections.

And tonight, after showing these pens, it turns out that I should've used that money only for my needs at university. Now WHO CAN FOLLOW THAT?

Of course, dad's worried about money, worried about us, and all. I just hate when he's envisioning the total financial breakdown of our family because of a set of friggin' pens.

So how would I dare buying books on Monday - HoME, in English original, since only the first two have ever been translated into Hungarian - what for, indeed? When we pay an awful lot to the doctor I'm visiting, and for the train tickets, etc. Tsk, tsk. Silly me.
Edit: Being ironic, of course.. but still, the situation si very much like this now.
Wow, I think that's wrong of him, but would it be too bold to ask this?
What kind of F***ing calligraphy pens did you buy? Cross calligraphy pens? If you did, take good care of them. All I bought was a set of three Shaeffer calligraphy pens with three nibs and 20 ink refills for different colors for like $20. Although, in retrospect, I should have invested a little more money in something that might last longer.
"I keep losing pens, so I bought one for $7 because I got tired of not caring."--Mitch Hedberg.

Yeah, I felt a little bad about mentioning chisel point pens because it didn't translate well, it seems - it should have cost only about $3 U.S. for a pen

Glad to see that things seem to be resolved, tho

It snowed. SNOWED. This is 3 weeks earlier than first snowfall last year. And it is heavier. And last year was a record for volume of snow. Uh-oh.

LOL! Remember what they say about Los Angeles, Rian.
If you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes.
I find that only partially true.

They say it about everywhere. In New England, it is usually attributed as "wait five minutes" and specifically quoted as from Mark Twain (about his home in Connecticut, I believe)

I know exactly how you feel, as usual (I always tend be able to relate to people in this thread more for some reason. Maybe it's a sign.). For quite a while I lived under my stepdad's totalitarian reign. Ironically, I was thinking that and the day he told me I could move to the desert for a while he said so .
Why go to those places to live? Mars is empty, Misses Small Planet.

Well, they have internet connections in those countries and if you hate it here so much, I wish you well there.
