Not quite right. A student of the Dunedain such as yourself should have gotten this one long ago. I will await the light bulb in your head to to start flashing. Be sure to duck when you try to smack yourself in the forehead when the solution occurs to you. Then go find SGH and thank her for her suggestions.

OK then - my OTHER choice ... the emblem of the White Tree, the Seven Stars and the Crown on Aragorn's standard as made by Arwen... ??

Very nice riddle, LCoU. The answer would be Numenor, if I'm not mistaken.

nuts, you guys really don't know the answer. Perhaps this riddle was too hard. Oh well, it came from the chapter Minas Tirith, in the Return of the King. If you want to find the solution, search there.

Strider My riddle, again

Just in case you missed my riddle:

Colder than the coldest.
Hotter than the hottest.
Wiser than the wisest.
More foolish than the bigest fool.

What is it?

New Riddle:

A living man who has no name.
Guarding death’s door is his claim to fame.
Where in the war he too was slain.

Old Riddle:

Pure and white.
Without stain or blight.
Soaring with pride
at a great height.

New Riddle:

Eldest is she, of all in her house.
And she ought to be known as

no, that would be too obscure even for me . SGH was on to it with the standard idea, but no one has been able to solve it completely as yet.

How about the "White Horse Upon Green"? The standard of Rohan.
